✍🏻 6th Grade English (ELA): The Four Parts of Global Citizenship

Have you ever thought about how you connect with people and places all around the world? That's what global citizenship is all about! It means understanding that we are all part of one big global community, and our actions can affect others, no matter how far away they are. For 6th graders, exploring global citizenship helps us become caring and responsible people who want to make the world a better place. There are usually four main parts to being a global citizen. First, there's Global Awareness, which means learning about different cultures, countries, and world issues like climate change or poverty. Second, Social Justice focuses on fairness and equality for everyone, everywhere. Third, Environmental Stewardship teaches us to protect our planet and its resources. Finally, Civic Engagement encourages us to take action in our communities and globally, whether by volunteering, speaking up, or simply being kind. Understanding these parts helps us see our role in the world.
