Imagine a set of rules for our whole country! That's essentially what the Constitution is. It's the supreme law of the United States, created a long time ago to establish how our government works and to protect the rights of all citizens. Think of it as the ultimate rulebook. From the Constitution come all other laws. These laws are created by our elected representatives in Congress and are designed to keep our society organized and safe. Laws cover everything from traffic rules to how businesses operate. Understanding the Constitution and laws helps us understand our rights, our responsibilities, and how our country is governed.
