✍🏻 3rd Grade Science: Solar System and Planets

Hello, young space explorers! Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered what’s out there? Our amazing home, Earth, is part of something much bigger called the Solar System. At the very center of our Solar System is the Sun, a giant star that gives us light and warmth. Around the Sun, eight special objects called planets travel in their own paths. These planets are like a cosmic family! Closest to the Sun are the four rocky planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Earth is super special because it's where we live! Further out, we find the four gas giants: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Jupiter is the biggest planet, and Saturn is famous for its beautiful rings. Besides planets, our Solar System also has moons, like Earth's Moon, and countless tiny asteroids and comets. Learning about the Solar System helps us understand our place in the vast universe and how everything moves together in a grand cosmic dance. It's a truly fascinating place!
