✍🏻 1st Grade Science: The Day and Night Sky

Look up at the sky! During the day, we see the bright, warm Sun. The Sun is a giant star that gives us light and heat. It makes our days bright and helps plants grow. When the Sun goes down, the sky gets dark. This is nighttime! Then, we can see the Moon. The Moon is Earth's neighbor, and it looks different each night because of how it reflects sunlight. Sometimes it's a big circle, and sometimes it's just a sliver. As the night gets darker, you might also see tiny, twinkling lights. These are stars! Stars are like our Sun, but they are very, very far away. The sky is a magical place, full of amazing things to discover, both during the day and at night.
